The prosecution’s goal was to provide evidence that the technological advances of a primitive planet Earth were inconsistent with their scientific knowledge, and it was Eighteen’s fault.

Captain Mark Swift, a thirty year old Barbadian astronaut, was investigating the origin of a digital signal on the nearby Halside Comet. There, he had first contact with the entity called Sigma. Sigma sought information, and with a wave of a hand, placed Mark in a deep sleep…
