Onika-Estaleta was born November 10th 1978,on the Bridge Road, in St. Michael, Barbados. Onika believed she had the perfect life, living with her mom, dad, and finally having a little sister, but almost immediately, it fell apart.
Life became tumultuous after feeling abandoned by her dad and molested by her stepdad from the age of nine, for many years.
“Low self-esteem and the desire to be loved…” created a melting pot with too many of the wrong void-fillers and connections. Later in life, the death of one of her children, and a short marriage, added to the recipe. The constant pain and disappointment was overwhelming.
Despite the trauma, she tarried. Onika found God, found her true self and bounced back to become a fantastic mother and woman of purpose, with a vision for her future. She is now an author, has a social media presence and is an entrepreneur. The true definition of a tower of strength, whose resilience and perseverance partnered with God’s plan to become an inspiration to many.
